Healthcare: specialists buy in, owners stay on
Foreign healthcare groups buy Turkish specialists, from dialysis products to fertility clinics, and often keep the people who built them in the business; hospitals are bought by groups already running hospitals in Turkey.

FutureLife, a fertility group with clinics across Europe and, at the time, no business in Turkey, agreed in April 2025 to share control of Bahçeci’s IVF centres with the Bahçeci family; the family keeps a seat on the board, and the annual budget needs its director’s vote.

Hospitals are bought by groups already running hospitals in Turkey: MLP Sağlık (Medical Park) bought the remaining 20% of Samsun Medikal Grup, which runs seven hospitals, from the other shareholders for USD 115m in cash in September 2026, taking sole control.
Orion view
A foreign specialist buys a product, a licence or a clinical team it cannot build quickly in Turkey, and usually wants the people behind it to stay. Your role after the sale is then part of the price: what you run, what you can veto, and when the rest of your shares are bought. Agree those terms with the headline value. Hospitals have a smaller circle of buyers, so the order in which you approach them matters.
